I got poured on walking into work! It wasn't raining when I got out of my car, but by the time I went up the stairs to the top of the structure, pouring!
The boys enjoyed their sleepover with Brooke - and I enjoyed finishing their school shopping! Owen needs new socks and maybe some shoes (I need to check my stash) and then we're set! Oh, Jared probably needs new shoes, too. No...I got him some slip-on Chuck Taylors.

Boys On Bikes
Here are a few pix of the boys riding their "new" bikes this weekend. Jared got a new big bike, so Owen got the old small one with the training wheels put back on. They're both just loving this.

Rain...rain...go away
Blah - day 3 of hot, humid, cloudy, and RAIN! I shouldn't complain, we really needed it after the dry (but beautiful!) July.
I spent last night uploading pictures. I'm really behind, but good grief! I took over 350 pictures in July! And that doesn't include the Air Show!!! I cut them down, but still loaded 300! I need to go through and edit again - no way can I scrap that many!
I'm also getting pictures ordered/printed for Jared's Kindergarten pages in his School Album. I figure First Grade starts in a month, I should get moving!
The boys are sleeping over at Brooke's tonight - hooray! I think I'll do the Back-to-School clothes shopping - it's 10% Tuesday at Gap! Anyone up for some shopping?

Mommie: (knocking lightly on O's head) "what's in here?"
Owen: (giggling) "worms"
M: (laughs) "no...what's inside your head?"
O: "what?"
M: "brains! Your brain is in there!"

Monday Blahs
Happy Monday! Eek...Monday!
A friend's kids started school this week - summer is almost over? We don't start for another month, but this next month will be busy busy busy!
Not that my kids need clothes - yeah right! But I think that I'll let Jared pick out a new outfit. Owen will wear what I tell him to wear. :) They both already have new backpacks and lunch boxes. I wonder if I can call to find out who Jared's teacher is yet?
Brian's out of town again - all week! He's in Texas which is probably the only place in the US that is warmer than here! He said that it was 95+ and 100% humidity last week. I think that the kids and I will go school shopping one evening, maybe hit the park on Thursday for some Hootin', and maybe we'll try to get in a Target run one evening.

It's almost Friday
it's almost Friday...it's almost Friday...it's almost Friday....
Can we just say it's been a long week?
Jared was NOT a happy camper yet again this morning. I finally got some more detail out of him and he just didn't like the locker room - he loved the games, the crafts, the swimming, but he HATES the locker room! I can't really blame him - the showers are cold, it's loud, the floor is wet, he might forget something, and there are tons of naked people! LOL
He was hysterical this morning and basically said that he'd sit on the bench today at Rolling Hills. It was 95 degrees and humid!!! So, after I made a teary call to the rec center with no results, I called my boss (again almost in tears) and left to go get him. I ended up staying with him at the water park and he had a blast as soon as he knew that he wouldn't have to go into the locker room to change.
Tomorrow...last day of camp...he says that he's not swimming, but he wants to go so that he can finish his lanyard, have a hot dog and a popsicle, and say good-bye to Diana (his favorite counselor). Actually, what he wants to do is wear his swimsuit in the morning, swim for a little bit, and then get out and get dressed before everyone else gets in there. Which I thought was a very clever plan for a six year old! We'll see what happens tomorrow - if he balks at going, I'm taking him to Brooke's.

It just keeps on coming...
The "stuff" that makes it all so fun.
The boys and I came home last night to a garage door that wouldn't raise. Luckily, we have two garage doors so we were able to get into the house. Upon investigation, the one that wouldn't raise was seriously broken - the big bar that the door opener rides on (?!) that's supposed to be horizintal - it was hanging from the opener at about a 30 degree angle.
Brian was working late, so I called the neighbor to see if he could assist. Brian's been working late getting ready for his huge intake meeting this week and I knew that he'd be crosser than a bear if he came home to this nonsense. Mark came over (with pizza!) and fixed the door. Whew!
Have you ever watched that Ice Road Truckers show on The History Channel? It's not my first choice, but it's certainly better than TH tournaments or the Orange County Choppers building motorcycles! We watched the latest episode last night (it's on so stinkin' late!). When we went upstairs afterward, we found two little monkeys in (not jumping on) our bed watching cartoons!!! At 11 pm!! Little stinkers!
Tonight we're meeting up with one of Jared's buddies (also at day camp this week) and her mom and brother. Both of us have husbands traveling this week, so why cook when there's good food and fun to be had?!
