"Pick Up Your Room" - a 2nd grade interpretation
I asked Jared to pick up his room last night and again this morning before school. It's not that large of a room...pretty small, actually. I didn't yell, I didn't threaten punishment, and I didn't nag. I asked once last night and once this morning. He spent a total of probably 30 minutes in there by himself.
Here's what I find upstairs now:
The books are still all over the floor...the puzzle box is still out and open.
The pile of books is still in front of the door (from the big weekend sweep of the main floor).

The bed is unmade...the PJ's are on the floor...the desk is a mess...the clean laundry is STILL unfolded in the basket.

March...does this mean spring is coming soon?
I am loving the warm up in temps. Today I actually had the front door open for a bit - and didn't freeze!
Jared is home sick today, obviously from the pic below. He was up half the night last night with a horrific sounding cough! He coughed so hard at one point that he ended up puking. So he spent a good portion of the time in a little bed he'd made up on the bathroom floor.
He stayed home from school today and had a lovely day watching TV, coloring, and doing puzzles. He appeared to feel fine...until that cough would kick in and he'd turn beet red. Poor kid.
Owen was NOT impressed at having to go to school today knowing that Jared was staying home. He tried to insist on wearing his PJ's to school, but I was able to convince him that his jeans would be a better choice. He ended up having a great time playing at school, on recess, and outside with his friends. He's enjoying the warm weather, too.
