Summer Time!

I'm belatedly sharing the Last Day of School photos.  Our weekends have been hectic with baseball, dance recitals, and Father's Day.  The boys jumped right into summer vacation, but I didn't want to neglect our celebration of the end of another school year.  As is evident from the photos below...they are thrilled at the prospect of 12 weeks of freedom.

CELEBRATE!

Jared had a fantastic year in 4th grade. When I look at his first day of school photo compared to his last day of school photo...I'm amazed at how much he's grown!  He looks less than thrilled at the beginning of the year...and I think maybe someone needed a haircut!  You know...I believe that was during our refusal to visit the salon phase....  He loved his teacher, and he made some great new friends.  He loved math the most, but he doesn't have a "least favorite" this year.

Fourth grade is the end of elementary school here.  Next year, he'll be a big Middle School kid!

Owen loved being in the first grade.  His sense of humor meant that I spoke with his teacher numerous times (though, not as often as I spoke with his Kindergarten teacher!).  He's grown a ton this year and is one who DEFINITELY is happy to be on summer vacation!  Owen's favorite subjects were PE and math.  His least favorite school activity was Spanish.

As we settle into a summer vacation routine of visiting the pool, staying with the grandparents for "Grammie Camp", and playing with friends, I cannot help but be a teensy bit excited for next year's first day photos...and at the same time, I dread that it means that they've continued to speed through their school years.  But I can't get over how absolutely adorable these two boys are (not that I'm biased...).
