Thursday...so close to Friday!
Swimming lessons were cancelled last night - we got to the pool and there was a sign. Bummer. I wonder if it was closed yesterday morning? I didn't head in because the wind/rain kept me up half the night and I was afraid school would be closed. I called and it's open again today, so I'll be able to swim tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow is February! We'll see what the Groundhog says this weekend! I'm pulling for an early Spring - this week has gotten brutal! And six inches of snow tonight/tomorrow? How many days until vacation????

Nanook?
Wow is it COLD today - the wind is brutal! Poor Jared at the bus stop today! (Of course I stayed in the car - it was cold!)
We got to preschool and the gates were frozen shut, so Owen and I trekked all the way around the building to the front door. I hope that everyone decided that indoor recess is appropriate today! I can't even imagine taking Jared to swim lessons tonight! (I skipped the pool this morning and will opt for the treadmill tonight. I was afraid that school might be called for wind/ice/no power and I did NOT want to drive over there to find the place closed!)
My boss asked me yesterday what I want to be when I grow up. Tough question coming from someone in the position of deciding how large your paycheck will be...and with no warning! I answered her questions, but I think that I should probably contemplate this and make some decisions - "what DO I want to be when I grow up?"

Cheesecake?
I scored the ultimate sweet treat at Target today...New York Cheesecake filled Hershey Kisses. Holy moley were they GOOD!!!! They were in a little pack of five jumbo sized kisses and are divine! I will not be buying them again.
Same old same old around our house. I signed Jared up for baseball this Spring. We'll be awfully busy for April and May with soccer, baseball, and Scouts, but it'll be the only time that we have two sports. Well...until Owen's old enough to play.

Do you hear that?
It's QUIET! Peace and quiet! The boys are in bed, Brian's not home from class yet, and the TV is off!
It's been a busy couple of weeks with birthday celebrations (I'm really thirty FOUR?!) and school break and soccer and swim lessons and Scouts....
I had several great birthday celebrations. I celebrated first with my two Brundage sisters - since Sarah and Kristy and I all have birthdays within a month of Christmas, we combined into a Birthday Extravaganza! We all got together for dinner at Mom & Dad's house. It was nice to all see each other after the whirlwind that is Christmas...and the dinner was spectacularly yummy - Mom's roast beef, veggies, and chocolate brownie sundaes!! YUMMMMMMM!
I got some VERY nice gifts from Mom and Dad, as always. I love my garnet Pandora charm! And I need to host some dinner parties with my new serving platters! Oh...and who can forget Isabelle - my very own WEBKINZ!!!
Celebration #2 was a fun lunch with Demmy, who treated me to a sandwich at Cosi's - how have I never been to that place before?!
Celebration #3 was lunch with baby sis, Sarah, at Mongolian BBQ.
Wow...lots of food-centered celebrations....
Celebration #4 was presents in bed with my boys. :) The boys each gave me an IOU for a Pandora charm. Brian got me the wireless router that I've been hinting about! Woo hoo! Now to hook it up and secure it!
Celebration #5 was lunch at Los Tres Amigos with mom, dad, and the kids. Brian had training, so we all headed up to Howell for lunch and then across the street to see Jamie at The Gold Depot for Pandora charms! My bracelet is filling up nicely!
Celebration #6 was another joint birthday dinner at Kevin & Delena's (Delena and I also share January birthdays) - they hit a homerun with Betty's lasagna recipe and we had my requested Tollhouse pies for dessert - with Cool Whip, of course.
So now I have 5 pounds of Birthday Eating to lose!!!
It's been rough getting up to swim when it's sub-freezing at 5:30 am. So the treadmill is my friend again because it's warm in my basement and the treadmill is always available.
The boys are crazy as ever - Jared's giving Owen advice on women already. Who knew that, according to a six-year-old, choosing the woman to spend the rest of your life with is as simple as "just find someone who is nice and who you think is hot". Piece of cake!

Friday...Friday...Hooray for FRIDAY!
Whew - long week back to work after break. I'm exhausted! I guess it doesn't help that I stay up watching ER until 11 and then get up at 5:30 to swim.
The kids are thoroughly obsessed with Webkinz. Jared loves to login and see "who's playing" so that he can invite them over, play games, etc. He has a blast sending mail and gifts, too. Owen isn't so into the games...but he LOVES to give his buddies a "tubby." Yep, you can buy a tub from the W-Shop and actually give them a bath - it's so cute.
And *I* love playing the games! Tile Towers is my favorite, but I earn Owen lots of KinzCash playing all sorts of games - it's a very addicting habit that I need to curb. I've wasted hours on that stinkin' website!

Happy New Year!
I'm only a *few* days late....
The sickies in our house are finally recovered - I think. Jared looked a little worn out this morning, but that may have been the early wake-up call after two lazy weeks. My 5:30 AM alarm was painful - but it felt great to get back in the pool after almost THREE weeks of nothing! OMG! I was sick, then it was Christmas, then Owen was sick, then Brian, then me, then I was recovering, then we had stuff to do after being house-bound for two weeks! Eek! At least having the stomach flu, I didn't backslide any on weightloss! :)
So school started today without Owen. :( Poor kid's eczema is just awful right now, so he spent the day with Brooke and we made a noon trip to the pediatrician. He gave us a mild steroid to try to calm things down. He did say that it looks more like a contact dermatitis and that he should be wearing long sleeves & pants - that it looks almost like rugburn. Makes sense - the kid has been crawling around in various costumes, halves of pj's, etc.
