Less Than Two Weeks!

Until Christmas! The boys are beyond excited. We'll take them to see Santa this weekend - Owen has been begging since last week. I have a bit more shopping to do - and wrapping! Ugh. I'm going easy on cookies this year - I just don't have enough weekend time left and I'm not up for baking every night for a week. We'll make 2 or 3 favorites and call it good.

We took the Cub Scouts to visit the police station last night. The officer who gave us the tour was great with the kids. As we all snapped pix of the boys in the holding cell, we stressed that this was a first AND last for each of them!

Tonight is the first night for dinner together in days...Brian chose turkey breast with gravy, and I'll add mashed potatoes and corn - all courtesy of the Schwann man! :) We did get to all sit down together last night, but I was feeling stuffed from the holiday party at work so Brian made pasta for himself and the boys while I ate pierogies. :)

The big fire department party is this Friday! Should be a fun time - it usually is. And the kids are geeked for their sleepover at Grammie & Grandpa's (with the mustache like this).

Funny Things They Say

Today Jared asked me if he could wear clothes (pants and a shirt) over his PJ's to bed. ?? He says that he's cold at night. I suggested an extra blanket.

I asked Owen before bed if he'd put his dirty clothes into his hamper. He replied "Affirmative".

They begged and begged to watch the new Christmas DVD that I bought today. The Wonder Pets Save the Reindeer (or something to that effect). I come downstairs to work and I hear them up there giggling together - they're running back and forth to get cups of ice for while they're watching. Ice? Well, you see, ice doesn't spill, mom. Smart guys.

Owen is the master of the stall tactic at bedtime. Can we read a book? How about two? Brush my teeth again. Can I take a tubby? Tonight's request? "I can't go to bed yet. Please? Please can I stay up so that I can line up these trucks?" I look and there's an 8-foot traffic jam between his bed and his closet.

Jared found it hilarious tonight that he got the last bit of lotion on his face. The tube was almost empty, so I shook it, and when I squeezed out that last bit of lotion, he laughed at the -ahem- noise that it made, calling out to Owen "O-wie - the lotion farted on Mommie!"

You just haven't lived until the lotion has farted on you and you trip over an 8-foot long traffic jam minutes later.

Can you believe that he's in preschool?!

More Coffee....

I need more coffee! Wow - I'm exhausted today!

Jared's PTC went great yesterday! He's doing some advanced math and is right on track (or a little ahead) on his reading. And his teacher loves him, which is always nice to hear. :)

No huge weekend plans - a trip to the indoor playplace with friends on Saturday. Maybe we'll get out the Christmas decorations!

Ugh

I feel like barfing. Blah. Not sure why - but my stomach's upset. Ick.

It's FREEZING! What's the deal with the wind?! I told the kids that they didn't need snowpants at the bus stop, but it might've helped keep them warm! Holy moly! I need to get myself a hat and mittens!

Tonight is Jared's Parent-Teacher Conference. I can't wait! Brian has a meeting, so I have the girl who used to live next door coming over to babysit. She's 13, so she should be fine with them for an hour - but change is always sucky.

Big weekend plans...picking up the Scout Popcorn, Castaway Cafe with Stacy & her girls, and getting out our Christmas decorations! I need to get the advent calendar out today and get that set up.

Back to the grind....
