Try getting four boys - ages 3 1/2, 6, 6 1/2, and 8 to pose for a picture. Yeah, this is it. The boys had fun with their buddies Dimitri and Dominik - they played x-box and trains, goofed around at dinner, and scared the living daylights out of their moms running around by the lake after dinner.

Poor Owen at the ER

Poor Owen has a tummy bug. :( I took him to the ER because he fell and hit his head the other night - hard. He fell off the bottom of the bleachers at swimming lessons. So...since he started throwing up less than 48 hours later, I called the pediatrician. She recommended that we go to the ER, so we did. Everything checked out fine - no fever, no other symptoms, neuro checks were all fine. Just a tummy bug. Not long after I took this picture he was sitting in bed drinking apple juice, eating saltines, and watching Dora.

The little stinker came home and downed a bowl of oatmeal. He's fine - he said he won't throw up again. Thanks...now can I have my 4 hours back?

Wednesday Happenings

Well, not much, really. It's Wednesday...it's reasonably warm out...it isn't raining...the kids are at school.

Owen hasn't cried before school in days. He sometimes looks a bit nervous, but he waves happily out the window once I leave. He has been taking a nap at school which helps a ton. After lunch, he grabs his teddy bear and settles onto a little cot for an hour-and-a-half or so. He's so much happier in the afternoons - and he's even sleeping better at night sometimes. School must be tiring!

Jared is learning to read more and more! I can't get over how quickly he's picking it up! It helps that we've been reading 2 or 3 books at night, but he reads at least one of them. That's his only regular homework so far in 1st grade. They're doing some 100-book challenge, too, so he's excited to turn in his paper each morning with the names of the books that he read. We've worked through his Dr. Seuss collection and are doing some of the longer picture books, now.

We're trying to go to the UM game on Saturday. Angie - are you guys still coming up?! I'll give you a call. We need to find enough tickets.

Tuesday Lunch

More lunch pictures - what can I say - I'm obsessed! Jared's snack of red peppers and string cheese on the left. Then my snacks for the work day - cut up fruit & veggies. Then Owen's lunch for preschool - cheez-its, pretzels, & koala cookies; cut up melon, cheese stick & 2 grape tomatoes & 2 cucumber teddy bears; and a jello cup.

Packing lunches is such a pain in the tush. I love doing these, but they're time consuming! I need more ideas for protein for Owen, too. I'm thinking of ham cubes or maybe turkey rolls. He did love the salami rolls the other day - hmmm.

Cub Scouts tonight - Brian's taking both boys to the first den meeting. They're decorating cookies and learning the hand shake, motto, and something else that escapes me. Hopefully Owen behaves himself!

Work is busy busy busy, so I need to actually get to it. Data quality reports...here I am!!!

Get a big drink!

Owen can't reach the faucet to get his drink - I cropped out his little feet dangling on accident - so funny to see him climb up there and balance. (Yes, we're out of dixie cups.)

What's For Lunch?

I haven't posted a lunch pic in a while. Here's Owen's lunch and Jared's snack. Owen has a mix of pretzel twists, yogurt-covered rasins, and bunny grahams; cut up cantaloupe; pineapple & blueberries; a string cheese; and a few koala cookies. Jared's taking cut up red pepper and a string cheese for snack. He opted to buy lunch today.

I can't believe it's October! We've been so busy that September flew by! Jared has a soccer game tonight, which means that I'm running every night this week - Monday-soccer (J), Tuesday-Cub Scouts, bunco, Wednesday-swimming, Thursday-soccer (O).

Jared's doing awesome selling his popcorn! Only a few more and he'll earn the badge for filling his sheet!

We need to motor on out to the bus stop - have a good week everyone!
