Yes - the plague is upon us. Blah. Jared's home with a fever. He got up to 104.7 last night but it's hovering right at 99 with Tylenol today.
We missed baseball practice last night, and we'll have to miss Cub Scouts tonight. :( Too bad - especially since it was the bowling Go See It!
Some friends and I were talking about sports snacks for kids. When did we start snacks after practice?! So far we've gotten snacks after baseball practice - Dorito's and PowerAde at 8:15 pm on a school night?!

Thank you...thank you very much
Owen wore these glasses for his class' performance of "Blue Suede Shoes" at Saturday's auction. The guitars were hanging all over the school and looked adorable! The auction was a huge success raising between $15 and $20,000!!! I'd say that's a nice accomplishment for a school with only 130 students!

Jared The Bunny
Spring Has Sprung
And with it, the neverending frenziness of it all.
The indoor winter soccer session is wrapping up this weekend with a final game (for first place in the league!) and a pizza party complete with trophy presentation. We look forward to reclaiming our Saturdays for...
The outdoor soccer season! Which starts up...today! Well, today, the first practice, was rained out. But we have our first game on Saturday afternoon. Jared is apathetic about it so far - it's too cold to play outside, mom! Seven weeks until Soccer Saturday! :)
We also started baseball practice this week - BRR! Owen enjoyed banging around the playground while Jared learned all of the basics. It's his first time playing and it's Coach Pitch - but he's doing GREAT! He is throwing and catching like an old pro. They've only done batting practice once and it was OK - the coach needs to work on getting the ball over the plate!
In the midst of all of this, we're still full-steam-ahead with Cub Scouts. Jared raced in his first Pinewood Derby this past weekend. He did his car almost completely on his own - designed it, sanded, painted. I put the wheels on - oh, and we had help with the band-saw. :)
This was Spirit Week at Country and the kids had fun with school colors day, pride in our country day, and today's Grandparents' Day. In lieu of Grandparents, Jared had to settle for me at lunchtime - he didn't seem to mind.
Owen's school auction and singing performance is this Saturday - I can't wait to see the little bugger up on stage! He's excited to share his performance of "Blue Suede Shoes" with us all.
We're seriously getting into wedding plans with talk of shoes, flowers, jewelry - so many decisions! My dress is in and ready for me to go try on and fit - I'll do that in a couple of weeks. Sarah ordered our shoes (fancy flip flops!). Once we decide on flowers, we're entering the home stretch! I can't believe it's coming up so quickly!
It's been warm enough to walk to school a few days this month - Jared just lights up when I come walking across the playground. I think we'll try to walk more often!
With Spring comes plans for organizing and purging - I have a huge pile of stuff to donate and need to clean out more before the big garage sale next month!

Four??!!
Owen will be four on Monday...four...four?! When did he get so big?!
He's running around here today playing with legos - not the little duplos, he's all about the regular legos. He has a fire station made of legos and he just adores it. He builds houses for the fire fighters to fight fires in and makes them space ships to tour the living/family rooms.
He came into our bed to snuggle last night for the first time in weeks. As crowded as it gets, I loved having him all snuggly and sleepy with us.
It's been a busy couple of weeks. I went on my weekend scrapbooking trip and got 58 pages done in my 2005 album - gulp. I'm so far behind. The kids had fun with Daddy and Grandma & Grandpa L.
Jared had cub scouts and swimming this week. I thought that swimming was done, but we have 2 more weeks. He's getting so good at his freestyle and back strokes - and diving off the diving board! We'll take a break from swimming once this session ends since I told him that he could play soccer and baseball this spring. Those two plus Cub Scouts would put me over the edge.
I need to rent a car for the drive to Hilton Head, but it's so confusing. I think that I can rent one at our hotel in Disney, but I wonder if it's more $$$ to return it to the airport, then. Hmmmmm.... I need to get on that.
