Cheesy smile, but it was really bright with the sun setting here. Our pack doesn't require that they purchase uniform pants - so shorts were fine. I realized after we got in that his kerchief is wrong here - it goes UNDER the shirt collar.

Popcorn, Halloween, and Ramblings

Wow! Cub Scouts is expensive! I went today to get Jared's essentials - uniform shirt, belt, patches, handbook, neck thing-y, and some stuff to iron-on the patches - $80!!!!! Sheesh!

I hope that I can iron-on all of his patches because we're in trouble if I have to try to SEW them on! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! First I'd have to figure out how to thread a needle - and then what I'm supposed to do with it! I so failed Home Ec.

Owen has been uber crabby lately! I think that he really needs to nap, but school is just too exciting for that! He did take a nap last week one or two days and was so much more pleasant to be around! He's such a little character - I could just gobble him up!

Jared and his buddies ran around selling Cub Scout popcorn last night. Some VERY nice neighbors actually bought popcorn from both kids - so nice of them. Jared was so excited to be selling stuff - he has his little speech down. After it was too dark to walk around, he begged to make phone sales. If you haven't heard from him - watch out! The kid's a selling machine! At least it's YUMMY popcorn - that Trail's End stuff is tasty.

I need to get some pictures of Owen at soccer this week and post them - he looks adorable. Plus he's so into it! He's excited to be out there on the field instead of watching like usual.

The boys decided on their Halloween costumes - Jared will be Yoda and Owen will be a Black Power Ranger. I tried to send pictures but they didn't go through? Weird. I'll get some soon. I can't believe October is creeping up already.

What a Week!

Whew! It's been a whirlwind week at our house!

I was in the office 4 days this week, which is only one extra but feels like a lot! Normally I'm working at home on Monday and Thursday. I was sick yesterday with a headache ;) so I stayed home and relaxed.

We signed Jared up for Cub Scouts. He and I went to the first meeting on Tuesday and he was hooked! The kid is obsessed with the badges and secret handshake and all that. Wow! One of the other moms that I know signed on to be the den mother and I said that I'd help her. Popcorn anyone? LOL

Wednesday evening was Jared's first swim lesson of the new session. For some reason, he was hysterical at the thought of swim lessons! Huh? This kid LOVES swimming! We ended up in the same class as a little boy from his 1st grade class, so he was all smiles after that, little stinker! He had a ball and it was really hot on Wednesday, so Owen and I were both jealous.

I called in sick yesterday but managed to drag myself to the TWO HOUR PTO meeting at Owen's school. Wow do these women fundraise!!! Golf outing, pizza kits, ice cream cakes, Box Tops, Campbell's labels, Scholastic, auction, teacher scoop at the ice cream place, and on and on and on!!! Wow! The plan is new playground equipment and a flag pole for the front of the church/school.

Owen started soccer last night - Little Strikers. Hee hee. I have pictures that I'll post this weekend. His practice ran 5:30 - 6:30 and he looked so dang CUTE in his soccer shorts, shin guards, and cleats!!! I don't understand why the socks are so big - they come all the way up his legs and I have to fold them down like 4 times. He did GREAT and was really enjoying it. Jared's practice was right afterwards and they had WAZA clinic. He learned a bunch of drills to work on during the week. I'm just not sure that soccer is "it" for Jared - maybe baseball? Scouts interested him quite a bit, but I really think that he needs to RUN.

I've got a cold now so my nose is all congested and my throat is sore. :( I think I'll go find a cup of tea. I'll get back to posting more regularly now!!!
