Another thrilling week...

in our household. It's freezing and sleety/snowy today - blech. We did get a glimpse of the sun yesterday, which was a treat. It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow, but with a high of 18, does it really matter?

We made popsicles in the Zoku the other night - fun to watch them freeze, and we all liked them! We just used grape juice - all that we had in the house were grape and orange juices, and doing "stripes" of those two sounded just gross.

Swim every night this week - at least it's warm in there!

I had to break down and make a second pot of coffee yesterday. When I say "pot" I mean a small pot - I only make 6 cups at a time these days - but I was SO sleepy yesterday afternoon, and I'm out of Coke Zero. First thing I did this morning was make today's pot of coffee...so dragging lately.

Work all day...swim meet tonight...and tomorrow is FRIDAY! Finally.

Yep...the look on Owen's face pretty much sums up my take on Monday mornings. I think maybe he needs a haircut.

A Quiet Saturday

We've spent a quiet Saturday at home. After my trip with Jared to urgent care last night, we're lying low. He's got his own bottle of amoxicillin for his suspected strep. Fun times.

I joined my neighbor this morning for a body sculpting class this morning - I don't know that my abs will be the same again. OW! But it was awesome class that I'm excited to go back to!

Birthday dinner at mom & dad's tomorrow - the boys are excited to see Grammie and Grandpa, and I can't wait for chicken divan!!!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I celebrated yesterday with Brian and the boys. We all headed up for a yummy dinner at Red Robin - my Whiskey River BBQ Burger was good as always (so good that I had to give Jared half of the burger!). Owen scarfed his corn dog and fries - he must be feeling better.

We came home, and they gave me their gift - this cool popsicle maker from Williams-Sonoma. The boys are very excited to try it out - I'll wash it up today, but then it has to freeze for 24-hours. It says that it'll make popsicles with pudding, ice cream, juice, etc. As long as it has sugar. Any recipes?!

Today it's back to reality. I started my day off with an awesome session with the iron. I really hate ironing. The idea of the chore isn't so awful - I can't stand how the cord is always in my way!

So the rest of today holds lots of work, data quality reports, 4 miles of walking, and about 87 loads of laundry. I can't wait to hear how Owen's field trip went - he and his class went to see "Frog and Toad" today, and he was SO excited. I even got him into a "nice" rugby shirt!

Dad took this when I was about...two years old? Back when birthdays were exciting.

I remember a particularly crazy birthday...1984...sleepover with lots of giggling and dancing...donuts the next morning (coldest day in history or some such statistic). And wasn't that the year that Nessa joined the family? I'll post a photo of her tomorrow. :)
