Disney is a lot of work!

I've spent the last three nights trying to book dining reservations - what a ton of work! I've managed to secure most of what we need/want...only a few more.

Once I finish that up...back to searching for mantle and hearth decorations...blah.

Recycling!

The train table has been repurposed to Playmobil - Owen is beside himself over-the-moon with his new camper, cabin, and skate park. Not sure why the ambulance is there...someone must be injured.

Back to the Grind

We're back to the routine...school, work, laundry, cleaning.... Boo

The kids seemed to be excited to head back to school - I did have to wake them up this morning. They'd been sleeping until 8'ish over break, so they were not pleased when 7:15 rolled around and I was shaking them awake. Mini bagels and cream cheese seemed to placate them.

It's frigid cold...I told myself that I'd stand with them at the bus stop, but, when it's 10 degrees and windy, um, no. They're fine out there and I'll sit in my car...hey, they have hats and gloves on!

We signed up for swim team tonight...just Jared. Owen still sinks like a rock during Miss Bonnie's Level I class...going into Year 3 of lessons for him. So we'll be at the pool 3 afternoons a week now. At least it's warm in there!

Last Day of Vacation

What to do on our last day of vacation?

I think it's going to be packed with grocery shopping (we're out of milk), basement cleaning/organizing, and laundry.

I've got homemade blueberry muffins in the oven...plans for Aunt Margaret's spaghetti sauce...let's go!

Can it really be 2010? Christmas is over? It's amazing how the anticipation and planning leading up to the holiday are so stressful...and then the actual celebrations go by so quickly! We had a wonderful holiday this year...so many very generous gifts and pleny of opportunity to spend time with family.

We're looking forward to a busy 2010 already with Jared starting swim team next week, swim lessons for Owen, a trip to see The Mouse, and, of course, work! Happy New Year!

Conversations with Owen

Owen got up to pee this morning around 6:30 and then came into our bed and fell back to sleep (which he often does).

So he and I wake up around 7:45 and he rolls over:

Owen: Do I have school today?
Mommie: Yes, but it's Thursday so it's the end of the week!
Owen: But I don't want to go.
Mommie: But it's the end of the week, last day!
Owen: Can we sleep-in instead?
Mommie: OK, let's go back to sleep.
Owen: Scratch my back!
Mommie: OK, we should get your brother up and get breakfast.
Owen: But you said we could sleep-in!
Mommie: But you aren't sleeping-in - you're getting your back scratched. If you want to sleep-in, then let's sleep-in!
Owen: I don't know how!
